General

1. Who attends the ASI conference?

Attendees of ASI come from all areas of the superannuation industry consisting of trustee directors, CEO's, CIO's, fund staff, service providers and regulators.

2. How many CPD hours am I eligible for by attending the ASI conference?

15 hours (or part thereof). 

3. Do I have to be scanned at every session?

  • Yes, scanning is compulsory.
  • 'Scanning In' is compulsory at the beginning of every session.
  • 'Scanning Out' is also compulsory up until the last 10 minutes of the session.
  • AIST requires the scanning results to determine attendance numbers at sessions, in particular to help gauge which sessions are of more interest.

Venue

1. When and where is the conference being held?

2. Where can I charge my mobile phone?

There will be mobile charge bars placed throughout the ASI 2018 conference centre.

3. Does the Cairns Convention Centre have Automatic Teller Machines (ATM)?

The Cairns Convention Centre does not have ATMs within the centre, however there are numerous bank tellers located just a short walk from the venue.

4. Can I park at the Cairns Convention Centre and how much does it cost?

The Cairns Convention Centre has 239 undercover parking spaces available. Entrance to this car park is via Sheraton Street and the cost is $5.00 per entry

Registration

1. Who do I inform about my special requirements (dietary, medical etc)?

2. Can I change my registration details?

Yes, please contact AIST on +61 3 8677 3800 or email info@aist.asn.au for any registration changes. Please view our cancellation/transfer/privacy policies.

3. Can I attend just one session or day of the conference or share a registration with another delegate?

No. Registration cannot be purchased for part sessions or for multi use.

4. I do not want to attend the social functions, however they are included in the registration fee. Do I get a refund?

No. Refunds are not given if you do not wish to attend the social functions.

Please note: The conference dinner has limited places. Delegate registrations received after the dinner has sold out will not be eligible to attend the dinner. Register early and avoid disappointment.

5. How do I obtain a tax invoice?

Please contact AIST on +61 3 8677 3800 or email info@aist.asn.au for a tax invoice. Please note: your registration form becomes a tax invoice upon completion.

Location & Travel

1) Will transfers be available to and from the airport to the Cairns Convention Centre?

Transfers will be available to the Cairns airport only on the final day of the conference. You will need to arrange your own travel to the Cairns Convention Centre, Cairns upon arrival in Queensland.

2. How much will it cost in a taxi from the airport to the Cairns Convention Centre?

It is roughly 15 minutes from the Cairns Airport at a cost of approximately $30 in a taxi. Airport transfers are available through Cairns Airport Transfers. For more information or to book a transfer, visit their website here.

3. Does the ASI conference have a preferred travel agent?

No. You will need to organise your travel with your corporate travel agent or preferred airline.

4. Should I get travel and health insurance?

Your registration fee does not include any personal travel or health insurance. It is highly recommended that you make arrangements for suitable insurance.

Social Functions

1. How does my partner show that they are registered for a social function?

Upon registering at the conference, you will receive your guest's name tag for the function they are attending. Your guest's name tag must be worn for entry to the applicable social function.

2. Is there allocated seating at the social functions?

The Welcome Reception is a stand up networking function. The Conference Dinner has allocated tables for the ASI 2018 Industry Partners only – view the 2018 Industry Partners.

Dress Codes

1. Is there a dress code for the conference?

The dress code for the conference is smart casual. Room temperatures always fluctuate so please dress appropriately for your comfort.

2. What is the dress code for the social functions?

Welcome Reception – Wednesday 5 September 2018 is Smart Casual
Conference Dinner – Thursday 6 September 2018 is Smart Casual
